Our book club had another well-attended meeting on Monday evening. We enjoyed discussing The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. In particular, members liked the epistolary format, although keeping track of the many characters writing back and forth was a bit of a challenge. We had fun speculating about which parts of the book were written by Annie Barrows after the primary author, Mary Ann Shaffer, asked her to take over the writing. Please share your rating of this book from 1 to 5 stars by commenting on this blog post.
For those of you unable to attend the meeting, Tabitha will be leaving the library to begin an exciting new job in Manitoba. We at St. Albert Public Library are sad to see her go. I’m sure you will agree that she has done a wonderful job of launching the 20′s and 30′s book club. Best wishes, Tabitha!
My name is Alison and I work as a Public Services Librarian at the St. Albert Public Library. I will be facilitating the subVERSEive book club beginning with our next meeting on Monday September 20 at 7 pm. The book we will be discussing is The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeanette Walls, and you can sign out your copy from the book club kit at the Adult Information Desk on the second floor of the library.
